Wave shot up the snowbank towards the green chugging  thing on the mountain tracks. The wind was battering his fur. He could hear wolves screaming at each other . The green thing was moving. Fast. Wave found a place to leap onto. It was so icy Wave and Oak nearly slipped off.  There was a small place to stand.
     "Help!" shouted Oak. His back paws were  touching another part of the thing that slid off suddenly. His tail got stuck on the escaping section, and he tumbled onto it.  The  section Wave was on was piled up with wolves.
     The Vine Pack! They snarled and spat.  "Rarrrrghhh! You cannot stop us! "
     Soon his section slid off by itself too.  Wave almost tumbled off but managed to maintain  his grip .         The two runaway sections promptly smashed into each other, sending the Vine pack flying.
     Back at the mountain,  Leaf heard the collision and saw the Vine pack wolves land in the deep snowbank. Her eyes grew wide.
    "What is going on?"  she wondered.
      She saw Wave.
      Her heart was pounding. She had not seen him for over nine moons.  But who was the new wolf with him?  
                   

Leaf's pack ran down the mountain cliffs towards the ridges. They could see a large moving object
careening towards the main ice ridge. It was green with a strange symbol on it. It had a yellow area on  a circle, and then some black areas.  It was heading towards their mountain. The Inuric  Vine pack was on top of the thing.

On the news, a reporter could be heard.

Reporter: Live on the scene of a runaway nuclear/radioactive train heading right for the smoke ridges mountain in Canada.
If this mountain becomes a radioactive zone, it will kill all of the tourists on the bridge.
Another reason why this could be a disaster is that the beloved wolf packs of the area, the forest pack and the ridge mountain pack, are on the train.
NEWS REPORT OVER
  -Wave's area
Wave looked up and saw the moving object hurtling towards the   mountain. He thought nothing of it.
Oak turned to wave and asked, "What is that thing?" Wave shook his head in response. He walked down the mud path towards the main cave. As soon as he got to the bottom of the pit where the Main den was , he saw some bones. As he approached the bones, he noticed that they were caribou bones.
He padded to the main den along with Oak. Oak spoke to him. "Is that thing about to hit the mountain?" "Yes." Wave ran up the muddy staircase, with  Oak on his tail. A large amount of wolves were on it. There was another group of wolves who leaped on the train from the mountain. Wave saw a way onto it, and took his chance. He and Oak stumbled up the ice wall towards the thing.

Leaf lay on the floor of the medicine den. Wolfclaw was gathering herbs from a rocky shelf.   Leaf was moaning as a pup slid out, and then three more, and one more. Wolfclaw licked all the pups,  and they staggered around blindly towards Leaf. They snuggled into her fur and started nursing.  As Wolfclaw ran around  barking, "The first pups of spring!", a wolf came into the medicine den. The wolf, whose name was Dancing Flower, told Leaf, " Battle by the ridges."
Wolfclaw's eyes widened in excitement. "My first actual battle healing!" he said.
Leaf was in good condition but she could not battle the pack of the Inuric Vine because of her pups.

  Wave trudged through the snow. He heard a sharp rustling sound and turned around. He looked around, and no one was there. He felt like
someone was watching him. Then, a bush moved about and out came Oak.
He bounded towards Wave. Oak came up to wave and asked," I want to join your pack!" Wave said to Oak that it was ok,, but they had to wait until they got to the pack. Wave looked around for a shelter or something close. There was a waterfall, and a group of trees , and a huge wall of ice. There was also a large pit with a group of caves in it. The caves were acessable due to a staircase of dirt.He  barked to Oak, " that is our shelter. Go into it befo-" A strange moving object pelted towards the ice wall, and got on top of it.

Wave woke up to a blast. The humans had been blowing  a hole in a cave for a long time. Wave was tired of the blasting and he wanted to get home . He noticed that a craft of red stuff was near the enclosure. He had an idea...... He took the red stuff and rubbed it on some coal, until there was a spark on the edge of  the red stuff. Hmm, he thought. Maybe this will get me out ! 
A human looked over and said to  Wave [wolves cannot understand humans] "wfatdertharlkraetyodong,wollouf ?"
Wave ran into the cave as fast as he could. A large explosion could be heard. The rest of the wolves woke up. They stuck their heads out of the  cave. A group of other endangered species had already escaped from their   enclosure.  The wolves stampeded out of the enclosure, singing joyful  howls and avoiding bears and wolverines. They leaped out of the area and trudged into the snow.
I am finally free ! thought Wave.

snow wanderers: the lost region

   Leaf lay in her hole, feeling sick. It had been 9 months or so since Wave had been presumed dead by falling off the mountain. Maybe it was more ......or less. She did not care, exept for the fact that she did not know when she was to give birth. She suddenly felt a faint tingling in her stomach that turned to pain shortly. Leaf called for Wolfclaw, who came immediately. Wolfclaw pressed his face along Leaf's stomach, and immediately said,"Your  pups are coming!"

snow wanderers chapter 5

      Wave stared at the ground below him. He was flying further and further away from his home. One  of the humans signaled to another, and they flew down into a hangar. A fat human lured Wave into a cage and rolled it away.Wave saw a  large enclosure full of other wolves.They were staring at him like he was crazy with frothmouth disease.The human put him in the enclosure with the other wolves.The wolves went screaming, saying ''wild wolf'' over and over again. A arctic wolf walked over to him.
     ''Hello,'' said the wolf. ''I am new here too. My name is Oak."
     ''I am Wave,'' replied Wave.Wave did not want to meet Oak.To him,Oak seemed like the soft type of wolf.Wave looked around the enclosure he was in.There was a waterfall, a small rocky mountain and a food pile.A group of wolves were gathered near the waterfall.They told him that there was a hole behind the waterfall  and that he should go into the cave there.Wave did so. He stood back, leaped, and ran. He ran past the waterfall, saw the wall........and ran through.
